Believe it or not, spring is coming soon (ACTUAL spring, not just spring on the calendar). To get into the spirit of spring and have you looking forward to good weather and enjoying the outdoors, the library is offering several phenomenal gardening classes in the next several months.
The gardening series kicks off with a Master Gardener Class in Herb Gardening on Saturday, March 31, where for $5 per person, you can learn how to start and care for an herb garden and will be provided with the supplies to start your own small, beginner’s garden.
During the “Garden Essentials” class on Saturday, April 14, a professional landscape designer and cut-flower grower walks and talks us through gardening basics. There will be a seed-starting demonstration and you’ll go home with your very own dahlia plant to kick off the Spring season in style! ($5 class fee)
On Saturday, May 5, a Master Gardener will teach a class on growing flowers to attract butterflies, and all participants will leave with a small container of butterfly-attracting flowers. ($5 class fee)
The gardening series wraps up with “Container Gardening” class on May 19 – you may think you don’t have space for a garden, but we’ll show you that you DO. ($10 class fee)
All classes meet from 10am-12pm. Registration is required, so please call, stop in or register through our online calendar.
