National Library Week Brings Exciting News

Posted by mcorreia on

This year, National Library Week is April 8 – 13.  In celebration, we are kicking off Library Fines Amnesty Month, and we’re giving everyone a fresh start!  Come to library to return your overdue materials any time from April 8 through May 8, and you don’t have to pay any overdue fines.

Don’t have any overdue books or movies?  That’s OK, because we want you to have a fresh start, too.  Just stop by any service desk and we will forgive your old overdue fines, no matter how old they are.

So come in, let us forgive your fines, and get that library card back in action!

“Kids & Teens Read Free” also starts during National Library Week.  Anyone 18 or younger can borrow books without worrying about overdue fines – there won’t be any!  In an effort to remove barriers to reading, we are eliminating overdue fines on books for kids and teens.  Many thanks to the library board for supporting this change, and the Friends of the Library for helping to make it financially possible.
