Newark Public Library will never request online payment for overdue library material. If you receive an email stating that the sender is Newark Public Library and providing a link to make a payment, please DO NOT click on this link. Suspicious emails should be forwarded to suspectedscam@newarklibrary.org and then immediately marked as “spam”. Loan Periods and Fines

Loan Periods & Renewals

Books, audiobooks, CD’s, magazines, nonfiction videos, and adaptive equipment are all loaned for periods of 3 weeks.

A longer 6 week loan period is also available on some of these items upon request.

All fiction videos are loaned for periods of 1 week.

NYS Empire Passes are available for loan periods of up to a week. Rochester Museum and Science Center Passes are also available for loan periods of 3 days. These items should be reserved and reservations can be made by visiting the library or calling (315) 331-4370. These items are not eligible for renewals.

In most cases, each item can be renewed up to 2 times by visiting the library in person, giving us a call, or through your online account at www.owwl.org.

Fines & Fees

The Newark Public Library does not collect any fines or fees on the following Newark Public Library materials. However patrons may still be subject to bills for damaged or lost materials.

If at any time your account exceeds $5.00 in fines/fees or you have more than 5 overdue items, your borrowing privileges will be suspended until your account is settled.
